General Advocates / Board Training – Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 6pm to 8pm  

April 6 – Intro, Cultural Competencies, Ethics – 2 hours

April 7 – Communication, Engaging Clients and Building Rapport – 2 hours

April 13 – Assessing Needs and Identifying Resources, Referrals, Developing Collaborative Relationships – 2 hours

April 14 – Advocacy, Helping Clients with Traumatic Experiences, Documentation – 2 hours

April 20 – Conflict Management and Negotiation, Crisis Intervention – 2 hours

April 21 – Challenges, Problem Solving – 2 hours

April 27th – April 28th – Domestic Violence – 4 hours

May 4th – May 5th – Sexual Violence – 4 hours

May 11th – May 12th – Stalking – 4 hours

May 18th – May 19th – Teen Relationship Abuse, Specific Populations - Teens – 4 hours

May 25th – May 26th – Child Abuse, Specific Populations - Children – 4 hours

June 1 – June 2rd – Elderly Abuse, Vulnerable Adults, Specific Populations - Elderly & Vulnerable Adults– 4 hours

June 8th – Hate and Bias, Specific Populations - Immigrants and Refugees – 2 hours

June 9th – Community Based, Criminal Justice Based, and Faith Based Organizations – 1 hour

June 9th – Closing / certificates – 1 hour

Total: 40 Hours

Note: In order to receive Advocacy Certification, you must attend all 40 hours of this training. If you are not seeking Certification, but you are interested in attending one or more discussion topics, please contact Becky for more information.
